CASI Mid-Atlantic Regional Chili Championship

Get ready for a spicy, fun-filled day at the CASI Mid-Atlantic Regional Chili Championship on Saturday, September 21, 2024! Join us at the Piedmont Triad Farmers Market to judge the best chili in North Carolina while enjoying live entertainment, exciting games, and delicious food. This family-friendly event offers something for everyone, from face painting to cool prizes and special surprises. With no admission fee, it’s the perfect way to kick off your weekend. Tasting starts at 9:30 AM, and awards will be presented at 2:00 PM. Don’t miss out—volunteers, judges, and chili cooks are all welcome! For more information, call 800-642-0500.

No admission fee to attend. 

$20.00 for CASI entry, and $10 for freestyle entry to compete. 

What do I need to do if I want to compete? 

• Arrival Time? Cooks need to be on site about 7:30-8:00am to prepare their chili for the Judges.  You can prepare your Chili for public tasting before and have something to keep it heated for the duration of the day.

• Is there a meeting? Yes, cooks meet at 8:30am on the field

• What time do I hand in my sample? 11:30am your Chili sample must be ready and given to the judges for a noon tasting.

• What do I need to bring? Everything you would need to cook Chili in a field where there may or may not be a water source or electricity.

• What do I get from CASI/EANC? We give one table 2 chairs for each cook. If you have your own tent you may want to bring it. 

• When is the announcement of the winners?  Winners will be announced at about 2pm

• Is there a rain date? This event is held Rain or Shine. It will not be postponed.

• Is there entry fee for the public?  Only if they want to taste your chili there is a $5.00 sampling fee. (Sampling bag includes 5 tasting cups, spoon, and napkin).
